TRITON INTERNATIONAL WATERPOLO MASTERS cup 2026
Triton Amarousiou Sports Club is pleased to announce the Triton Masters Cup 2026, a tournament taking place on 31 July – 2 August 2026 at the Marousi Municipal Swimming Pool “Michalis Manios”, Anaxagora & Kyprion Agoniston Street, Marousi 15126, Athens, Greece.
The event will host 16 international teams in a high-level Masters Water Polo tournament featuring a 7-match group stage for all teams and a Final Four knockout stage for the top teams.

The detailed match schedule will be announced after the draw and confirmation of entries.
ELIGIBILITY
- International Masters teams (Men, Women, Mixed)
- Average team age: 35+ (Not strict)
- Up to 17 players per team
- Players from different clubs are allowed to participate on the same team
FORMAT
A. GROUP STAGE
- 2 groups of 8 teams
- Each team plays all other teams in its group (round-robin)
- Matches per team: 7 (guaranteed)
B. KNOCKOUT STAGE (FINAL FOUR)
The top 2 teams from each group advance (4 teams total):
Semi-finals
- 1st Group A vs 2nd Group B
- 1st Group B vs 2nd Group A
Final & 3rd Place Match
- Winners → Final
- Losers → 3rd Place Match
Additional matches: Final Four teams play 2 extra matches (semi-final + final/3rd place), for a total of 9 matches.
REGULATIONS
Matches will follow World Aquatics (FINA) Masters rules, with the following adjustments:
Duration
- 4 × 6 minutes
- Running clock (time does not stop)
- Break: 1’30’’ between periods
Time-outs
- 1 per team per match
Draws
- Group stage: draws allowed
- Knockout stage: penalty shootout (5 + 5)
Exclusions
- Exclusion time: 18’’
GROUP RANKING & TIE-BREAK CRITERIA
Group standings will be determined by:
- Points
- Head-to-head points among the tied teams
- Head-to-head goal difference among the tied teams
- Head-to-head goals scored among the tied teams
- Overall goals scored (all group matches)
- Fair Play / disciplinary points (if applicable)
- Drawing of lots (if still tied)
MEDICAL COVERAGE
- Doctor and lifeguard/rescuer throughout the tournament
- AED on site
- Fully equipped first-aid kit at the competition area
ENTRY FEE
€2,000 per team

- 7 guaranteed group-stage matches (Final Four teams play 2 additional matches)

DRAW
- The draw will be conducted by the organizers after entries are submitted
- Allocation criteria:
- avoid multiple teams from the same country in the same group
- balance of competitive level
- randomization through seeded “pots”
